Getting around has become so easy with the GPS technology being easily available nowadays. A great addition to this is the ability to use a great service provider like Tom Tom on your iPhone or iPad.

I have been using this app for quite some time and I LOVE it! The only problem I have found for it is that I don’t use it enough, but when I use it, it just works seamlessly.

I drive a Ford Focus and the great thing about that is the integration that’s built in for iPhone support. I’m connected via Bluetooth to the iPhone. This allows me to listen to my music stored on the device and at the same time have Tom Tom manage the volume of music while it navigates me. As soon as an instruction is called out, the music dims and the Tom Tom lady tells me where to go. Thereafter the music returns to it’s original volume. It’s great.

Another feature I love is the fact that I can have custom voices for different alerts. A Yoda voice can direct me is I want and knowing that a certain sound alerts me for different things is great. A ping for a mobile camera, a growl for a fixed camera and so on is exactly what I need.

I used to have a Garmin and with every ping I needed to look at the alert on the screen, Tom Tom has taken that obsticle out of the equation completely. Good job Tom Tom.
